My research explores the challenges faced by first-generation transfer students from culturally diverse backgrounds and the support systems that contribute to their success in higher education. To better understand these experiences, I conducted two interviews with Jane Doe, a biracial first-generation transfer student who has chosen to remain anonymous.

During our conversations, Jane shared her journey from early education to transferring to a four-year university, highlighting the difficulties she faced along the way. She described the challenges of navigating the financial aid system, adapting to a new academic environment, struggling with issues of identity, and last but not least, balancing family responsibilities with her educational goals.
